Hey everyone! The holidays are here !!! Between the food and the family interactions, it can be difficult to decipher what this season can mean. I know some use it to fall into these deep depressions and take stock of their failures but let’s not do that. Let’s make a commitment to being thankful by doing the following :
1. You are not perfect ... No matter what we set out to do in life, sometimes we get it right and other times, not so much. If you failed , take the time to analyze what went wrong so you can try again. We are not perfect and we need to stop letting the world put that requirement on us.
2. Be thankful for slow times ... Often we move so fast , that we can’t enjoy , be mad or even fully process our emotions. We don’t know how we feel. When life slows down, that’s our cue to rest. Remember when you had to take a nap or at least be still ? Enjoy this time so you can recoup your mental and physical wellbeing.
3. Be thankful you’re on this side of the dirt. You have breath in your lungs , you’re able to think and create ... you are alive ! As long as we are living, we are graced with another 86,400 second in a day to make progress.
4.Be thankful for the little things. They don’t mean a lot , they mean everything. Make a list of what you don’t like and make a list of all that you have down to the smallest thing. Your inventory list is longer than you think.
5. Be thankful that you are who you are.... you are uniquely made. Nobody can do what you do like you do and that is your SUPERPOWER. Small steps forward beats none at all. You will use your creativity to do what you need to do for yourself, your dreams and others.
Every day is not promised. We see RIP all day on social media , by texts and from calls. You’re here for a reason. Gratitude brings about a level of positivity that is unmatched. Wishing you all the best during this season of assessment and renewal.
